Each one Teach One

“Each one Teach one” an initiative of Rotary India to wipe out illiteracy in India in the near future through school students kick started in earnest.
Innovative teaching methods through the use of books and kits were effective and students did well to educate persons from their immediate neighbourhood. The high point of this venture was the teaching of blind person who was able to assimilate and reproduce what was taught. An amazing achievement indeed!!!

Teaching was conducted during the summer holidays and was a truly rewarding and enriching experience for the students who hope to keep the momentum going in realizing the global dream of Rotary India.

The Giant Killers

Robotics, a junior inter school competition held at La Martinere, Kolkata witnessed an absorbing contest among the elite and well known schools of Kolkata. The contestants were battling for a place in the prestigious National Finals at Bangalore. Five schools qualified for the Nationals. Mahavir placed a close 3rd and were off to Bangalore to compete at the National Level . The competition at the National Level was fierce, spread over two days. Such was the competition that all the four schools from Kolkata were eliminated. Mahavir’s gutsy performance was applauded by one and all. We missed winning the trophy by the proverbial whisker and were placed a fighting second!!!

Hats off to our boys. Rohit Sinha (X), Kishan Jaiswal (IX) and Pratik Lakhani (IX) for a brilliant and fantastic effort!!
